I had got to a stage where I didn’t want to go out due to the anxiety of suffering an attack of diarrhoea or stomach pain; I never felt right, and always felt fatigued and worried. Mentally it destroyed my confidence and everything else. It stopped me living life – I just didn’t want to go anywhere, felt lousy and an attack could last a day, a week, two weeks.

I went through all these years of misery but silicolgel changed all of that and daily life is much more comfortable. I no longer need to take it every day but I keep a bottle in my cupboard and the travel-sized sachets in my bag so that I can take some at the first twinge of discomfort. I’m so thankful that my life is no longer controlled by an annoying gut.
