I first started to experience gastro-intestinal symptoms during my teenage years. I coped as best I could, but things took a turn for the worse when I was about 16.
For many years, griping painful attacks occurred regularly, about twice a month. My GP instructed some blood tests, a stool sample and scans, and finally I was diagnosed with a gastro-intestinal condition at 25 years of age.
For many years I just put up with my symptoms, and l mean many years. My socialising was affected as I became anxious about the uncertainty of whether I’d experience an attack whilst out with friends or family. If something did trigger an attack whilst out, I’d end up sitting miserably and painfully watching everyone else having fun but me. It is very disheartening and depressing.
Whilst in a discussion group looking for support from others going through a similar experience, someone in the forum suggested silicol®gel. So l did and within a few days, the stomach pain and acid reflux stopped. It has really helped me.
I recently ran out of the gel and suffered a painful attack, so my friend bought some more silicol®gel which was a huge help. I have been using it for two years now and wouldn’t be without it.
